The world has experienced, in recent years, one of the most difficult situations in terms of health, coexistence and work and personal dynamics, which has brought to light many challenges and unique learning opportunities. In a context where a multitude was hospitalized, topics such as hospitality, hospital hospitality, reception, accommodation, and care were in evidence. This work examined an experience of hospitalization in a hospital area dedicated to the care of patients with suspected infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, in a private hospital in the city of São Paulo. It aimed to investigate whether the areas of hospitality and hospital hospitality were significantly impacted by the new relational dynamics posed by the pandemic and whether, as a result of these dynamics, the concept of hospitality and hospital hospitality procedures were strengthened in hospital professionals, who passed to find, in the way of welcoming and caring for others, opportunities to recognize themselves as agents of hospitality. We sought to observe professional behavior and conduct, collect information, analyze the collected data and, by induction, explain how this personal adjustment process unfolded. The research, qualitative and interpretative, had data collected by observation (participant and non-participant) and informal in-depth interviews.
