Abstract

What does dealing with hospitality substantively mean, as a gift? Why associate it with tourism? Is that hospitality offered at home similar to that offered at hotels and tourist receptive? After a light state of art of the international studies on this field, this article suggests that hospitality as gift open three ways to the tourism experience research: as social fact, as ritual and as ethic.

Doutor em Ciências da Educação pela Université Sorbonne, em Paris. Bacharel em Comunicação Social- Jornalismo pela ECA/USP. Diploma de Estudos Aprofundados em Sociopedagogia da Educação de Adultos, dos Lazeres e da Animação Sócio-Cultural.
